What we take on

Three things go wrong in a business this size.

One of them is yours right now. A decision nobody can make for you. A phone ringing while both your hands are full. Something nobody has opened since the week it went in. All three end the same way here: the work moves quicker, and less of it waits on you.

In their words

I participated in a workshop regarding AI and business usage. It was thought-provoking, but information that I can use immediately.

What it is like afterwards

One of these three is your Tuesday.

Scroll slowly. This one moves with you.

You have had the same conversation about it four times.

You had it once, it got decided, and your own people were taught to run it.

You were under a sink and the phone rang out.

The phone got answered at nine at night and the job was booked before they hung up.

Nobody has opened it since the week it went live.

Something goes out every week whether or not you remembered.

Standing in front of a full room, walking a team through the tools on the screen behind.

The part most firms skip

It only counts once your team can run it without us.

Your people get taught on your own work, in your own words, by whoever built it. We stay on the phone while they get used to it. A month later it is just how the place runs.

The three, in full

Think it through.

Three kinds of work go through here, and every one of them says where you can stop.

Think it through

Nothing is broken. Something needs settling and there is never room for it, or a session your people sat through changed nothing.

The kind of thing that comes in

  • We keep talking about this and we never decide it.
  • I have a way of doing this that works, and I cannot teach it to anybody.
  • My people hear the word AI and go quiet.
  • We have the training budget this year and nobody knows who to bring in.

What you leave with

A plan in your own people’s words, and a team that can run it on Monday.

What that covers

Workshops for teams · Sessions for leadership · Talks and keynotes · Your own people taught on your own work · A full walk through the business · Marketing, fundraising or a crisis, thought through at your table

Nobody hands you a binder and nobody sells from the front of your room.

Two of your own can lead it from there. It is yours either way.

The other two

Build it.Keep it running.

The thing itself, and every month after it goes live.

Build it

You can describe the thing. Nobody has made it.

The kind of thing that comes in

  • The same numbers get typed into three programs by hand every week.
  • Leads come in to somebody’s personal email and die there.
  • What people see of us online is older than what we have become.
  • It works on paper. I need it to work on a phone.

What you leave with

The thing, working, with your name on it.

What that covers

AI helpers, one job each · The repeat work handled on its own · The programs you use, talking to each other · Websites, and what a customer can do on them · Software for the one job nothing you can buy does · Logos, and the paperwork you hand people · One screen with every open job and who is on it · One person owning the deadline, by name

Nothing you already pay for gets thrown out, and we turn down any job whose goal is fewer people on the payroll.

It is yours the day it goes live, whether we ever speak again.

Keep it running

It got built. Then everybody got busy.

The kind of thing that comes in

  • The blog has three posts on it and the last one is from last year.
  • Nobody has asked a customer for a review in a year.
  • We build the same program from nothing every summer.
  • Our listing online still shows the old hours.

What you leave with

Nothing to remember. It runs.

What that covers

Programs with real rosters and real payroll · Events, from the run of the day to the volunteer list · A membership list kept straight, and the records behind it · Something going out every week · Reviews coming in without you asking

One screen tells you what came in, where it came from and what closed, so you are never paying for a month you cannot point at.

Say the word and we hand it back, every step written down.

The list behind those three runs past a hundred things, and you never have to read it. Say how the place actually runs and we will say which one you are in.

Most of what gets built for a customer hangs off one file: Brain Power, where what your business knows gets written down once and kept current. Anything else we build for you can be attached to it, and once it is attached, it knows how to do that too.

The rules

What we take on, and what we turn down.

Three are what you get. Three are jobs we say no to, and if one of them is yours, this page just saved you a meeting.

What we take on

What we turn down

  1. You keep the software you already pay for.

Nobody tells your team to throw out a system they just finished learning. That is how you lose the people who have to use it.

  2. Whoever does the work is who answers the phone.

We take a few companies at a time. Call in a year and whoever picks up already knows which job you mean.

  3. The plan is yours the day we hand it over.

Take it somewhere else and have somebody else do the work if you want. Yours outright either way.

  4. A job meant to put people out of work.

If what you are after is a smaller payroll, say so on the first call and we will save us both the trip.

  5. Building something before anybody has looked at how you work.

Ask us to skip the audit and we say no. Every fix we have watched fail started with somebody guessing how the work really moves.

  6. Something nobody at your place is in charge of.

Somebody always volunteers in the meeting. We want their name, and we want them still in charge of it in March. Without a name, we do not start.

Every job we take

The Pathworth Method.

Five steps, in order, whatever we end up making. You can stop after any one of them, and whatever is written down by then is yours to keep, the plan included.

01

Listen

You walk us through a normal week. It costs nothing, nobody gets pitched, and nobody gets told to throw out what they already use.

  • How the work really moves, day to day
  • Where the same job gets done by hand, every time

What you walk away with

A straight answer on whether an audit is worth doing, and what it would look at.

02

Diagnose

We follow the work to the people doing it and we ask them. The best description of how your company really works is in one person’s head, and nobody has ever asked them for it.

  • What only one person knows
  • What you pay for against what earns its keep

What you walk away with

A written read on how your company runs, and it is yours whatever you decide next.

03

Blueprint

We read the plan with you, line by line, so you see what we would make before anybody makes it.

  • What we found, and the decisions in front of you
  • The fast wins first, then the next six to twelve months, then years two to five

What you walk away with

Everything we would make, piece by piece and in writing, before you commit to any of it.

04

Build

We make what the plan called for. It goes in a piece at a time, so the business keeps running the whole way.

  • How the business prices, sells and runs, written where a new hire will find it
  • Your people taught on your own work, by whoever built it

What you walk away with

The plan standing up in your building, run by your own team, with us on the phone while they learn it.

05

Upkeep

A price goes out of date quietly, and nobody notices until a job comes back at last year’s number. So somebody has to stay on it. We teach your people to do that, or we do it.

  • Everything kept current as prices, services and people change
  • One number to call when something changes

What you walk away with

Nothing walks out the door when somebody leaves, and your best people spend their time on the work only they can do.

Where each one stops

Think it through, build it, keep it running. Same five steps, same order, every time. All that changes is where it stops.

Think it throughSteps one to four. Stops at the plan, or at the room once your own people have run it themselves.
Build itSteps one to four. Stops when the thing is standing up in your building.
Keep it runningAll five steps. Does not stop. Somebody has to stay on it, and that is step five.
Book a call

The next step

Bring the person who knows how the place really runs.

You walk us through how the work moves. You get a straight read on which of the three it is and what we would go after first. Whoever finds it builds it, and a year later you call the same number.

It costs nothing to book, and nothing for the call itself. If the honest answer is that you do not need us, that is the answer you get.
